Accessibility Statement

Updated November 5, 2026

Black Art Speaks wants everyone to be able to explore our work, learn about events and participate in our community. We are reviewing the accessibility of our new website and connected services.

Our approach

We aim to provide clear navigation, readable text, useful image descriptions, keyboard access and layouts that work across screen sizes. We work toward WCAG 2.2 Level AA as our accessibility target. We have not completed a formal conformance assessment and do not claim that every page or connected service meets that standard.

Need help using the website?

If a page, form, document, video or checkout is difficult to use, email info@blackartspeaks.com. Include the page link, what you were trying to do and the difficulty you experienced. If helpful, tell us your device, browser or assistive technology and the format or assistance you need. Do not send passwords or payment-card details.

Documents, video and external services

Some materials are PDFs or links to external photo galleries and videos. Membership, forms and checkout also use connected services. Accessibility testing of these materials and services, including captions, transcripts and assistive-technology support, is still in progress. Contact BAS if you need help accessing specific information.

Ongoing improvements

We will use feedback and testing to identify barriers and prioritize improvements. The BAS administrative team coordinates assistance through info@blackartspeaks.com. We aim to acknowledge requests within five business days, discuss an accessible alternative when available, and explain the next steps. If your request relates to an application deadline or event, please include that date so we can prioritize it. Feedback helps us address barriers in both our website and connected services.
